11/14/2006 - December Issue Of Worth Unveils Highly Anticipated 2nd Annual List Of The Nation's "Top 100 Attorneys"

New York, NY – The editors of Worth magazine have announced their much-anticipated list of the top 100 attorneys in the U.S.  Hitting newsstands on November 14, the “100 Top Attorneys” list, now in its 2nd year, is the result of over a year’s exhaustive research by Worth’s editorial staff.

To pare down its list to 100, Worth’s staff “searched for those who can think beyond the numbers and routine of their daily work,” explained Worth Features Editor Emily DeNitto. “We wanted to know what types of strategic recommendations our nominees have made. We asked how they are responding to current trends and pivotal cases. We then examined their years of experience, time spent both behind a desk and in front of judges, as well as their thinking concerning the best and worst qualities for a lawyer in their field.”

Worth focuses on attorneys specializing in trust and estates, philanthropy, elder care, matrimonial and other private practice areas.  In addition to seeking individuals with exceptional legal expertise, Worth editors looked for lawyers with great tact, discretion and stellar interpersonal skills, enabling them to explain a client’s options in the face of incredibly complicated legal and psychosocial issues.  Also included in the article is a compilation of some of the nation’s best legal minds gauging today’s most troublesome topics for lawyers and their clients, including the future of the federal estate tax, equal rights for fathers, global strategies for individuals that own companies or property outside the U.S., and the non tax-related, highly personal side of estate planning.

Also in the December Issue: In addition to the “100 Top Attorneys” guide, the December Worth includes “Live Long and Prosper,” on the ways in which expanding life spans are changing the world of estate planning, including the potential for underestimating retirement portfolios, and not taking into proper account the needs of aging and possibly dependent parents; “Wolves at the Gates,” on the ways in which boards must be prepared to accommodate, or battle with, activist hedge fund managers; and “Beyond Belief,” on the reasons why secular and religious investors alike are drawn to the burgeoning market for Islamic investment products. Also, in addition to its regular departments, Worth’s December issue provides an “Insider’s Guide to Executive Travel: Vietnam,” including snapshots of the country’s political scene, demographics, key sectors, future prospects, and other pertinent facts.
