Purpose in poetry.

It takes a strong Queen to bare her truth for the world to see. Puerto Rican native, Ari Safari, is a suicide survivor and spoken word performer based in South Florida. A young, and subsequently aspiring artist who prides herself in taking risks and crossing genres from music to film to performance poetry. She uses these forms of art to turn her darkness into light while bringing awareness to mental health. Ari has performed all over from open mics, equality rallies, prides and TV. She also landed her first movie role as a nonbinary actor, Brinker, in Kali Mah Tina. When she is not performing she volunteers for non profit organizations in hopes to inspire others to take action into making a positive change. Her spoken word short film "She Committed Suicide In Her Poetry" won 2nd place in a suicide prevention contest. Ari Safari shares her battle with manic depression and journey of self discovery while promoting self love and growth through spoken word.

A statement from Ari:

"It hurts to grow sometimes...

This piece was created in 2017 when I was in a dark place where I thought I had lost everything and the world was against me. I needed to stop feeling sorry for myself and make a change. This piece is about overcoming our fears and demons and fulfilling your purpose. Do your hear your calling?"

Created during a time of quarantine in the global Coronavirus pandemic, A Moment Of Your Time’s mission is to provide a space for expression, collaboration, community and solidarity. In this time of isolation, we may have to be apart but let’s create together.
