Passing milestones.

Jasmina Tang is the proud daughter of two Cambodian immigrants. Born and raised in Arlington, VA, she recently graduated from H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program, where she was heavily involved in the thriving H-B Theatre Department. As a freshman in high school, her original play "A Yellow Line" was selected by Young Playwrights' Theater for publication and performance at Anacostia Playhouse as part of their 2017 New Play Festival. Since then, she has been fortunate enough to have her writing recognized by several other organizations, such as the National Society of Arts and Letters and Convergence Theatre. She is currently taking a gap year before attending the University of York in York, England in October of 2021. Until then, she hopes to further involve herself in local theatre and expand her writing repertoire.

A statement from Jasmina:

"I adapted this piece from a fiction novel that I've been on-and-off working on since March. It is based on my own life and experiences as an Asian-American girl coming of age in 21st century America, but it's something that I hope will resonate with many people. I wrote "Cycles" because the pandemic has given me a lot of time to think about who I am, what I was, and who I want to be. I've been reflecting upon my past in order to feel prepared for the future, which is how I was inspired to draw parallels between the childhood memory of learning how to ride a bike and the more recent event of learning how to drive alone."
