Allister started working as a residential counsellor working with developmentally challenged adolescents when he was 19 years of age and eventually ended up studying Social Work for 2 years at which is now known as Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. He then spent the next 33 years working in law enforcement and the financial regulatory world. Most of that time in financial crime investigations. Throughout his career Allister has been heavily involved in outreach efforts in fraud prevention, especially with vulnerable communities. These efforts included hundreds of demonstrations, presentations, media interviews, telephone town halls and webinars. Allister has recently become involved in podcasting and in his most current project he co-created, co-produced and co-hosted a Management Commentary Podcast called “Talking not Ranting.” Allister resides outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada with his wife.
