A statement from Adalicia:

"This piece was incredibly personal and I wrote/recorded it for two reasons. In part, I wanted to remember this timestamp in my life. This was the first of many conversations that I'm going to have with my children to help them grasp the state of race in America. The second reason I felt the need to create this piece was urged on by the hope that hearing this prompts an open dialogue for others to start (or continue to press into) the conversation around the Black Lives Matter movement both in and outside the home."
