Bill Curtis, CEO
Founder and CEO, CurtCo Media, William “Bill” Curtis has a 30-year history of building, acquiring, transitioning, and successfully divesting quality media assets. Of the more than 70 brands Bill has guided through launch or turn around, his favorite venture was Robb Report magazine, which he acquired in 2001. Under his leadership, the brand became the highly influential and respected benchmark for luxury media. By the time it was sold in 2016, it had grown into a digital-first brand with 18 international editions, numerous websites, video businesses, e-newsletters, dozens of profitable events, and an exclusive membership club.
In addition to Robb Report, Bill owned, operated (and successfully divested) media groups in technology fields, such as Home Office Computing, Home Theater, Mobile Computing, personal wealth management with Worth, and a whole series of luxury titles like Showboats International, Art & Antiques, and many more. He also acquired and transitioned regional titles such as San Diego Magazine, Gulf Shore Life, and Sarasota Magazine. He is known for cultivating inspired staffs up to 530 employees, creatively, efficiently and productively.
Today, Bill and his team are building an exciting new media company focused on the fast-growing world of podcasting. This new platform already enjoys a reputation of quality and success in scripted story telling. His launch of the award winning, cinematic podcast series SOLAR – starring Helen Hunt, Stephanie Beatriz and Alan Cumming, held the #1 SciFi position on Apple, won Best Podcast of 2022 from Samsung and is building toward multiple seasons and TV development. In the category of unscripted programming, CurtCo celebrates core consumer passions, while entertaining sophisticated audiences with in-depth and authoritative discussions. You’ll find CurtCo’s new shows hosted on Apple, Spotify, Amazon, Samsung as well as all other podcasting platforms.
Bill is also a board member of the Malibu/Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce.
Bill resides in Malibu with his wife Lisa (with whom he has shared the past 40 years). They share three amazing children, three grandchildren and one puppy that all fill him with love and pride.
