LOS ANGELES – March 8, 2021 – CurtCo Media announced today that they are launching their first scripted podcast, Solar, starring Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming and Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz. Production for twelve 30 to 45 minute episodes is currently underway with the show set to premiere on all podcasting platforms this Summer 2021.
Los Angeles-based CurtCo Media has spent three decades building successful media businesses across all landscapes and currently produces cutting-edge quality podcast programming including the popular Hollywood Unscripted hosted by Jenny Curtis.
Created by Chris Porter and directed by Porter and Jenny Curtis, sci-fi Solar explores the journey of spacecraft crew members fighting for survival following a disaster on board the ill-fated Aethon, a manned solar research mission. As painful memories, forgotten dreams, technological challenges and blunt realities collide, the crew must work together to keep their hopes alive in the face of growing darkness. Each episode takes listeners on a sonic thrill ride that examines the vastness of the human spirit.

Jonathan Bangs, Colin Ford (Daybreak), Danielle Pinnock (Young Sheldon), Anne Yatco, and Jenny Curtis round out the cast with additional performances by Dana Gourrier (The United States vs Billie Holiday, Django Unchained), Micky Shiloah, Joseph Reitman, and emerging talent Jake Millgard, Nikhil Pai, Joy Brunson, Emily Goss, and Tom Choi.
Solar’s sound design is created by C.J. Drumeller (The Elmwood Strain Podcast). Shane Salk Productions (Carcerem – The Series) is producing the recordings.
